Apex combination tool

This $1 value combination tool was available for 78 cents in 1944. It opened your bottle sharpened your knives etc. and cut glass.
Where have all the bargains gone ? Alas they wanted 6 cents more for mail orders.

A bargain! A good salesman could make $100 a year selling that.

Sounds like alot of money for that tool, wonder if they sold many of them?
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

with the HAWKER described in the article, they would sell a good amount at the demo.

it must have seen some of those hawkers at fairs that people flock to and listen to their
super product sales pitch and then watch the wallets open up.
then they go home and wonder why they bought the item. " they were put in a spell."
