FOUND A BODY HAMMER
« on: December 28, 2014, 08:34:33 PM »
I picked up this body hammer at a Savers Store near me. It's like a Salvation Army store. It's marked H-52 and made in USA. Any idea when and who made this and the correct name ?

My guess would be Fairmont made for the military,
handle style & forging is Fairmont
numbering is military

That is one sweet looking hammer. I bet it is balanced well? Has a good feel?
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

That is clearly a quality hammer that belongs in my box! LOL I have a mix of body hammers myself, some Fairmont, some Proto and Plomb, at least one old Snap-on and possibly an old Mac as well. I still buy them every time I see them cheap!
