Nice Army picture, clowning around like most soldiers do when killing time.   68 doesn't seem like a ripe old age anymore, but I imagine he worked right to the end?   Two small notes,  notice the acetylene headlamp on the motorcycle, and the guy on the left is holding a Model 1917 US rifle.

Ponder on the reality your Uncle spent the entire duration of his time in WW-I in that miserable scratchy wool uniform.  He got 2, if he was lucky, the day he was processed in and wore one of them until he processed out.
He marched in it, and he fought in it as well.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance!
