I think Bob said he was just joking so its unanimous we all have morals, lets all start calling dibs on what we want from e-bay so we are guaranteed a win :)
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

Wasn't that Al Capone's line? LOL!
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

We aren't guaranteed we'll win, but we are guaranteed the price won't be driven up by our friends here.  We'll begrudge people we don't know.

I just looked at the bottom of the home page 39 guests and 9 users on-line right now, I guess maybe no-one should get there hopes up too much on winning the next e-bay auction just because they called dibbs :)

I have always mostly respected auctions I knew my friends were bidding in.
Many times they never even knew I saw them score a bargain, as I watched.
But only up to a point.

If you absolutely respect every call for dibbs, then all a person has to do is find it -first-, and then nobody else can bid no mater how much they want the item for their own collection.
So we are all unduly rewarding those who have the most free time to search ebay.
If you can't search 3 times a day you lose out on everything good.

Personally, anything I am truly interested in, I just keep my mouth shut so others don't have to wrestle on the horns of this very dilemma.
If something is too expensive for me, or very cool but outside my range for any reason, I will be delighted to post it, hoping I get to hear the happy tale and maybe see some better pictures eventually.
But otherwise, quiet is better for me.
   yours Scott

I could use about 1 lb of those morels. I like the smaller ones best.
