It is listed in the 1973 KD catalog as a spindle nut speed wrench for front wheel spindle nuts.

Here is what else is says -- "One 3-in-1 wrench fits the three most popular sizes of front wheel spindle nuts; 15/16", 1 1/16", and 1 1/4".  A must for every garage and service station.  A speedy tool with good balance for removing and adjusting front axle nuts.  A big time saver when inspecting brake linings.  Holds nuts in recessed area -- ready for immediate installation."

A tool that saves 30 seconds on a 2 hour job.

I can not believe they made a tool just to do this LOL

Skippy may have the only one ever sold....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Mechanics who worked on flat rate were, and probably still are (do mechanics still work on flat rate, or have the wage/hour people caught up with that practice?), always on the lookout for tools that saved 30 seconds.  I never had any trouble spinning the nuts off with the fits-all-sizes speed wrenches that came attached to the ends of my arms, once I got the nuts a little loose with a crescent wrench.

Clamp on some Vise Grips and give it a spin and watch them fly across the shop when they come off. Spend 2 hours looking for the nut and think of a excuse to tell your boss how the Vise Grips went thru the windshield of his pickup parked in front of the car you were working on Opps. Would you like fries with that quarter pounder ?

Ex grease monkey.
