I have pretty much that pair of parrot-head pliers, except mine are painted much more like a parrot than yours.
I actually used them this week, while bending some sheet metal flashing. I haven't found them otherwise terrifically useful, although the weirdness factor is high. And if you ever get a parrot that needs maintenance on its head, you'll be all set!
Nice driveby gloat on the Craftsman version of the great big Channellock pliers - I finally found a set of the big Channellocks at a yard sale (the very day I'd given up and purchased them at the hardware store! Fortunately, I still had the receipt). These are among the tools that sit on the shelf 99% of the time and save my bacon the other 1%.
