Quality in a simple tool

This is made better than it needs to be to lap in valves. It just looks right , and feels good in the hand.
First I've seen of this design. Walden Worcester T187 . I'm guessing no later than 1950's?
Probably 40's ?

Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.
