I have a few M.F. tools. Wondering what the collectors think.

Millers Falls what??
There is hardly a better eggbeater drill than Millers.
The early ones especially. Either mint condition or expertly restored, they are fluidly working art.

An early pattern #8 sized jointer plane (24") is worth more than most equivalent Stanleys, and so is a #2 size (7").
In fact the early models of plane are generally worth more than common types of equivalent Stanley across the board.
Not the rare Stanley types, but the more common types.

The ratchet screwdrivers are (imo) the best ever made, hands down.

The push drills and spiral ratchets have their fans too.
 Doesn't everybody want some Millers?
 Doesn't everybody need Millers?

I have an egg-beater drill by them. Really like it. And I came across a 1/4" hex nut runner bit that looks pretty stout, too.
I saw a wood hand plane with a red plastic handle and was just wondering.

>wood hand plane with a red plastic handle

See the Tenite thread...those are pretty, if extravigant.

MF made very good tools IMHO, even the simple stuff is bullet proof. It is sad what finally happened to the company, *sigh*

I have a Miller's Falls "tool Holder with 10 tools that fit in the cocabolo wood handle. Patented 1868.
I keep it handy with the sharp, heat treated 1/2 " chisel in the chuck.
Use it a lot.
Some of the other 9 tools in the handle are really weird looking.

I have several MF pieces, and nearly all are users.

I have several egg beater drills, and they are my favorites. I also have several breast/chest drills...they are so smooth, and are tough as nails.

My personal opinion, which is quite important to the community (haha)  is that most Miller Falls tools are of a good to high quality. I've not ever come across a "piece of shit" miller falls tool before.
But, my limited experience includes, drills, braces, bits, and even a few chisels and planes.  I hold faith in most Miller Falls braces, drills and bits. I consider Miller Falls strenght to be in braces, drills, and bits. But, that's my limited amount of experience.
cheers, bird

Just plugged in my Mi9llers Falls #646 power saw and the 10 amp motor runs strong and relatively quiet.  Old enough it doesn't have 3 prong plug, but no sparks in the armature, just need to lube the bottom guard a bit for protection.  Like you said, these are keepers!!   And Users...
