Had to get the rust off this to read the name, all I could see before was G.E..
It used to be double ended but I can clearly see saw and file marks, and I believe this is someone's initials and not a company.

The little squiggle line at each end is interesting...
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Agreed, Rusty, and it's not easy for me to think that someone would add the squiggles on both ends of the full stamping of their initials AND the mfg's, especially with the squiggles above and below the whole run.  (bear_man thanks heaven he's never been wrong, tho' he's been mistaken a time or several)
