Estate Auction Tools from Last Monday
« on: July 08, 2014, 01:34:15 PM »
I picked these tools at an estate auction and received them last Monday.  I have a lot of pictures, so I woll post in groups with descriptions.

Overall picture of boxes full of tools:

Cedar chest, smells good:

Cool toolbox, its handle locks to the other half of the lid when lifted, so you can't dump the tools accidently:

Detail of one of the two latches:

Picture of the latches and the slots that recieve them:

Opened fully:

Kennedy toolbox with cantilevered lift tray:

These tend to stick when opening, one of the hinges grabs. I'll clean the rust off and give it a shot of oil. Inside lid label:

This toolbox needs a little TLC to restore it to its former usefullness. Exterior hardware:

More to follow.......

This is the 7th or 8th like it, along with dozens of 10-50 piece hsuls in the last 4 or 5 months.  My son brought in anoyher load, not so big but a lot more mechanics tools and 6 or 7 tool boxes from Wichita this Monday night.

The idea for the kids sets, at least in part, was to answer my Wife's questions ss what exactly was I getting this stuff for. I couldn't just say "Because it is such a good deal."  On this lot I spent maybe $100 plus shipping.

Here are a couple of simple zooms from my original (I take several high quality pics of each, then trim the size down for upload.)  I'll get you some proper details asap.
