Today's Find
« on: July 30, 2011, 05:07:09 PM »
This Hoe 18 (19.5" long) wrench came to hand in one of my favorite hunting spots this afternoon. My largest Hoe, before this, was a Hoe 15.  These wrenches were patented February 21, 1922, and made in Poughkeepsie, NY.

The second photo (down) is a shot of the washed and waxed Hoe.  It was taken in the partial sunlight under giant trees.

Fig. 126 shows a Hoe self-adjusting pipe wrench, marked with "Hoe Corporation" and "Poughkeepsie, N.Y." forged into the shank, and with "Patented Feb. 21 1922" on the reverse.

The overall length is 15.2 inches, and the finish is plain steel.

The patent date refers to patent #1,407,578, filed by Frederic P. Robert in 1921 and issued in 1922.
