Jason,

I've seen wrenches soaked in oil, then layed out in the sun that took on a nice, dark blue/black color. I have a friend that does that to his. This is after a vinegar soak and brushing. You might try that on this one.

I've also heard of folks cleaning, then artificially re-rusting tools with a spray of low concentration salt water. Then, leave alone until a thin layer of rust appears on tool. Then a light, fine brushing after an oil soaking and a pretty nice patina results. You might wanna try that also.

Just suggestions for ya, your mileage may vary.

Yes I have been letting it sit in dirty motor oil since I did what I did and I think that is what has moved it along a little, thanks
Always looking for what interests me, anything early Dodge Brothers/Graham Brothers trucks ( pre 1932 or so ) and slant six / Super six parts.

My friend says to soak well, then lay out wet on cardboard in the sun to get a nice blue/black finish. Don't forget to turn it over every now and then.

I am changing an oil pan tomm so I will have plenty of oil, will report back in a week or so
