Wow!! A mint 102. I see so many rode hard and put away wet I don't expect to see any Stanley japanning on a 102.

  It was baked japan btw.  Asphaltum paint, fired in a low oven

Thanks ScottG.  It's the real deal.  If you're interested, I could show you a pretty nice Stanley #103.  It's basically the #102 with an iron adjuster.

And you're absolutely right, most #102s are beaten up pretty good.  I could also show you another very well used (and sort of abused) #102 if you want to see more of those.
