What are these hammers for?

Found these some years back and made handles for them just to hang on the wall but never knew what there real purpose was. I have a few guesses but they are just guesses.

The proper term for them?  no idea!  Large one I have heard them called a rock / geologist's hammer,  The small one is one I've used for flanges in sheet metal, a variation of a tinner's hammer.

The large one *is* a geologist's hammer.  These are favored by rock-hounds everywhere.

Small one is a chipping hammer or descaling hammer - see the other post on the forum this week.

The small one is a cross peen/straight peen combination. ( I Think ) I'm really not sure. Based on the Masons pick hammer that you show also the small one is prolly rock related but sure looks like a variation of the different types of peen hammers. I googled the different types and found nothing exactly like yours.   BTW The handles you made look great. :)
