Bahco adjustable/alligator combo wrench
« on: February 08, 2013, 02:50:21 PM »
Snagged this today as it just looked weird. Surprising the adjustable jaws open as wide as they do for an 8" wrench. Says Sweden, too. Guess it's a foreign jobbie, eh?

Have you missed the thread started by Johnek, all about BAHCO wrenches?
http://www.papawswrench.com/vboard/index.php?topic=6750.0

Looks like you have a BAHCO 31, likely from a Volvo tool kit.
This is the exact wrench that got me started collecting wrenches?

Story here- scroll down to Bahco Wrenches.

Huh. I've got adjustable wrenches from France, Germany, Japan, Canada, and the U.S., but that one is the first I've ever seen with a left-hand screw.
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Swedes and the Brits seem to have a thing about making the thumbscrew go the other way. Really messes you up when you try to use one after using ones that go the other way.... ;P
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

They do drive on the wrong side of the road.

I have a Bahco adjustable/alligator but I don't remember seeing Volvo on it.

I works surprisingly smooth for something so old and rusty. Haven't decided yet if I should clean it up and use it, or sell it to someone who loves Bahco.
