Snap-On Tools
« on: June 29, 2011, 07:54:55 AM »
I just saw this in a New Equipment Digest Email that I received at work. Just an FYI.

Snap-on Industrial Brands Expand*** Williams, Bahco and CDI Torque Products – three legendary names synonymous with quality and workmanship – are now part of Snap-on Industrial Brands. "By renaming our business unit Snap-on Industrial Brands we are strengthening the direct link between our distribution brands and Snap-on Incorporated, our parent company", explained Michael Carr, Director of Sales. "Our intention is to accelerate the pace of innovation and new product introductions, creating greater value for our distributor partners and their customers."

I know BAHCO has been a part of the Snao-On empire for several years, producing tools in Spain and elsewhere.

Quote
In 1999 it (Snap-On)acquired Bahco, a Swedish hand tool brand with its history dating back to late eighteen hundreds. Bahco started with innovations such as the pipe wrench and the modern adjustable wrench. Bahco hand tools are designed and manufactured by SNA Europe, the European manufacturing subsidiary of Snap-on Incorporated.

...producing tools in Spain and elsewhere.

France of late for pliers.

But I don't want a Bahco tool unless it says SWEDEN!!!

Technically Bahco and CDI are both divisions of Williams. Although looking at the new website that may not be obvious.

The direct link to Snap on and Snap on Industrial is relatively new though.
All my taste is in my tools.
