Dubl-Hex wrench ?
« on: September 01, 2012, 07:20:24 PM »
I was going thru a tool bag of some tools i bought awhile back. One double box end 12 point wrench marked DUBL--HEX  183 in the following sizes 3/4 x 25/32 on oe side and ALLOY STEEL--MADE IN CANADA. Each end has about a 1 inch offset. It has most of it's chrome still, but needs a good cleaning.
Any info would be helpful.

Those are quite common in Alberta. Good quality wrench except for the finish. Will stand snipes, hammers etc amazingly well. I have looked a lot and can find nothing on when, where or who made them.

Thank you for the reply my Northern friend. It does seem well made and i like the big offset on the ends. Being one side is 25/32 is a bonus as i fool around with old American cars and trucks.

Like Neals, I have never found a thing about the history of the Dubl-Hex name. It does not appear to have ever been registered as a trademark...

Dubl-Hex was registered in the US in 1962, which would have caused import complications....

The only hint I see is someone on GJ noted the part numbers seem to be the same as Gray's.....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
