Flea Market and junk store finds
« on: June 18, 2011, 09:03:33 AM »
The Sebastapol flea market and my favorite junk store provided these.

First, the pliers.  The first on the left is an unmarked pair of assembly pliers (that have already earned their keep with replacing the springs in a frozen up 1/4 inch ratchet).
Second, a pair of Utica slip-joint pliers, with a Button patent wire cutter.
Third, a no-name pair of needle nose that went to a friend.
Fourth, a nifty little pair, no name, just marked in a triangle "Drop Forged Steel."
Number 5 is a modified pair of needle nose from Utica.

Second picture is a 12 inch back saw, apple wood handle, "Warranted Superior"

Third pic shows a 1/2 inch drive Thorsen USA extension, sundry sockets and a Snap-On swivel and a PH screwdriver

Fourth pic shows Williams engineers wrenches.  The double end is in good shape and just needs some minor rust removal.

Pic number 5 has a stamped wrench -- the lump on the top is a screw driver, a hefty Craftsman underline, and two Barcalos.

Nice finds!
Is the top wrench in the misc. pic SAE or metric? Looks like it could be a handy bicycle multi-tool for on the road.

Haven't checked yet, but I suspect strongly that it will prove to be SAE.

I would say SAE or similar, rather than metric, since I don't recall seeing any square metric fasteners.

At an auction yesterday I saw one of those top wrenches. It was in a well organized tool box of all welding stuff. Wondering if that is a clue to what its for.
