My old shop
« on: November 12, 2013, 09:35:52 PM »
This was taken about 8 years ago.  Had decided to save the old chicken house, and it really needed a roof.  It measures 13X21, too small for a garage, and just about right for a blacksmith shop.  Still full of stuff, and the darn thing had a ceiling at six foot two.  So the entire ceiling and joists need pulled out and moved up almost two foot to the top sill.   Roof is completed, lots of siding renailed.  Covered the North wall with tin for weather resistance.  The needy looking roof side here is on the South.  It has a full concrete foundation, and plan to move the (Hot) stuff, torch, welder and forge in here, sooner or later.  It is in the backyard here at the house, 75 feet away.  Just another project.

looks like a nice building! We live on a old chicken farm. it all depends how much money you want to spend, metal roof is cheaper, but noisier, if you get snow, it can come down real fast off of there!  a shake shingle wood look good on there!

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

The new tin roof is long since done.   And most of the north side is covered with sheet metal.  Moved a few things out, but going to take a concerted weekend to make a real dent.   Been stashing stuff in there since 1977.
