Is it a little curved in a side view? ditto.. stove  lifter...

They are sometimesa a little bit collectable, as there are folks who restore antique stoves (only certain kinds tho, and it's not easy to figure out what went with which stove)

Yes indeed, for a stove, woodburning type, probably a kitchen range that had the smooth iron top with lift out plates.
