all in one spanner set ,,, or is it ?
« on: May 13, 2012, 09:24:48 AM »
if anyone has ever seen / or knows anything about this one i would love to hear it,,it is called "the all in one spanner set".  it is extremely well engineered. sadly the the writing is all on top of the lid and is well faded. oddly the only mark on the whole kit is the word "patented"  on the ratchet arm. the socket sizes are however stamped next to the relevant holes in the wooden box..another interesting thing,, one socket fits only into the handle end of the ratchet and is for spark plugs..the ratchet handle has 5 angled positions 2 heads,,and forward reverse.

Dunno, looks screw machine made, so my first wild guess would be new britian.

Hex drive with detent balls is *very* unusual...

The wood box with the sliding top is very typical <40's...

Very kewl set :)
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Didn't somebody post one of these last year?  It looks awfully familiar.
