An interesting What's It named Willard

Ok, here you go fellas. My brother, the junk man, gave me these today.

As pictured, they obviously are to compress something, but what? The straight jaw has serrations both on the end and the long side. They also come apart at the hinge.

Any ideas?? I'm almost positive they are for auto mechanic use.

Anyone have an old Willard catalog??

That would explain that Willard wrench I have out in the shed. Looks like other manufacturers battery wrenches. Thanks Bob!!!

A lot of those make excellent blacksmith's tongs for holding railroad spikes by the head.
