Thursday Night At the Tag Sale in Waverly
« on: June 10, 2011, 04:08:56 AM »
They opened up the old hardware store again this week and although I thought I cleaned them out last month, there were still a lot of goodies to be had.  My wife gave me $12 to spend and I gave her $5 back when it was all said and done.

First photo ; clockwise from the top  3 no names,North Bros. ratchet slot driver,Millers Falls multi angle slot, Artisan Phillips, Proto 9606 Slot, No name Monkey Wrench,  2 wood handled Spin Tites(same size) nut drivers, Bon-E-Con Socket(anyone know the era on this one?), Bonney  2625 hacksaw, 2 Oxwalls, Barcalo DOE, Auto Kit 200, Bonalloy DOE, Tiger DOE, Wizard ignition, 2 IH tools, and 3 Indestros.

Second photo:  Clockwise from the top:
Nut driver(3 or 4 of them of various sizes, only one photoed) with the  "=11/32=" logo(is that early craftsman?)  A really sanitary  mini-brass hammer screwdriver in the handle tool), 4 Excelites, 1 Vaco, DOE's from the bottom;Billings/Spencer,  Hybar and a Hybar Bridgeport metric, a US made Truecraft, and 2 stamped Uplands.

There was a lot more there that was a tad overpriced, but might wait til Sunday when things are 1/2 price.Never seen a Bonney hacksaw like this one and the Blade was a Truecraft(German/English  zone or division or whatever.)

Thanks.  I can't find out any info on it via google either.  Not sure where I'll find 9" blades though.....

Take a standard blade and cut it down to 9", put a new hole in the cut end.  I've had to do the same thing with hacksaws from the early 1800's.  If you don't have a hole puncher, a fresh nail set works pretty good.

Good idea B.  Will give it a shot.  Still not sure what a German American zone Truecraft hacksaw blade is or where it came from.  It's still pretty sharp for now anyway.

Thanks

I will have to second, or 3rd the "Nice Hacksaw" comments! I have never seen one, and did not know they existed. They would work great for cutting off bolts in tight places!
