June 2020 Barn Sale in Memphis NY
« on: June 19, 2020, 12:54:13 PM »
I wasn't sure I'd find anything interesting since I was just here last month.  But I knew they had some bicycles.  I bought this Rollfast...

Rusty rims - not sure how to procede but the overall "patina" of the paint is good.  Repainting these old bikes is only an option if there's a complete restoration.
If you have fixable bikes now's the time to sell them - the stores are sold out!  I repaired an ugly pink/yellow ladies 10 speed and then fixed up an adult trike - sold them each in one day.  Got $60 for the ugly pink and $150 for the tricycle - no haggling.
But more to the point here is the haul -

4 Perfection box wrenches
a None Better wrench
Williams ratcheting box - now soaking in vinegar
several Williams Superrenches.  The long versions of 1/4, 5/16, 11/32 and 7/16 are to add to a set I'm trying to complete.
From a garage sale - spark tester and a pocket tool (China) by Smiths "since 1886" which appears to be sharpener with  round flat and tapered surfaces, possibly diamond?

Perfection is a new brand name to me.  Better, I imagine, than the less expensive "Imperfection" wrenches.

They were made just after the"Almost Perfect" series.  Well, I didn't remember the name either, I had to look it up on AA.  It was a Duro brand sold thru Western Auto.

Yep that's a Smith's diamond knife sharpener.  The back side has a groove so you can sharpen fish hooks.  It has good reviews.

The Perfection set came with 6 pieces, (probably) two larger wrenches, I'm guessing 13/16 x 7/8 and 15/16 x 1.
