Welcome, we'll be happy to have you here! I lived in Oxford for a while, during college. I didn't like it so much. The food wasn't so good, and the only persons I met were tourists..... BAD tourists.... persons taking pictures of me as I leaned out of the window in the place that I lived in..... I suppose I'm in someone's photo book from folks living in the Orient. I've since realized traveling isn't a good thing for me to do. But, classical music is quite easy to come by around there. I walked into a little church while persons were playing the Four Seasons, and it was pretty amazing. And, of course, you can't beat the gardens in that area. Within Oxford, there are a great many private places to write, think, and hide from the rest of the world. And, to think that you may be drinking a pint in the same location that Tolkien existed is pretty AMAZING!!!!
Our United States is so incredibly young! The mere age of England is incredible. I'm slightly afraid for my health, as my friend pushed me over a bridge into the Themes River. I've heard the river isn't particularly sanitary. And, I can guarantee it did not help me get a good "grade" in my college class.
I have to say, after I got used to eating things that were wrapped in newspaper..... fish and chips were pretty damn good.... so long as I had some vinegar to go along with the meal. I've tried to find a good "fish and chips" meal around here..... so far, it doesn't exist.
I only spent a few days in London. I went there to see plays/ theater. One of my favorite, if not my favorite plays/ short plays that I've ever seen was in London. I'm not sure if you are familiar with "The Overcoat," but it was AWESOME!!!!!! OK, maybe I'm a "nerd" but, I know Dostoyevsky said that all of us a product from Gogol....... that says a lot to me..... anyhow, I digress. If you stick around this site very long you'll come to realize that I always ramble on about a good many things.
Anyhow, that's a very long winded welcome.
you'll like it here, '
cheers, bird
