Looking for information
« on: April 10, 2019, 12:24:30 PM »
I was digging thru a bucket of wrenches that I got at a farm auction years ago and came across one that is new to me. It's an adjustable of sorts, one side is marked Made in England Pat No 629209. The other side is marked Croma 5/8-1"  26-44 mm S4.  Can't find my camera and don't know how to transfer pics from my phone to here, I'll see if my daughter can help me with the pics later today.
I've had no luck trying to find a list of British or English patents. Anyone know anything about Croma tools?

Patents came out of northern Europe. ( https://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/biblio?FT=D&date=19490914&DB=EPODOC&locale=en_EP&CC=GB&NR=629209A&KC=A&ND=4 ) is British patent 629209 in ESPACENET -- the collaborative patent database originated by the European Union.

Yes, thank you for the  link to that website! For years "we" myself and another have been unable to track down via google the 1911 patent for a English Wheeling Machine. Thanks to you I now have that info and it's really eye opening! Shows those blokes who have claimed they knew are wrong again!
Oh we are having fun now!
A bunch of pics (5000+) of tools and projects in our shoppe

ESPACENET has solved more than one mystery for me. I'm a big fan.
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

Further comment on ESPACENET -- it has aims to be comprehensive -- it includes many U.S. patents as well.  There are some limitations.  The access points to patents varies by date and country of origin.  The original Swedish patents for the wrenches produced by BAHCO were only indexed by patent number.  See  ( http://www.datamp.org/patents/displayPatent.php?number=1636&typeCode=0&country=se ) for the DATAMP entry for SE-1636 which includes a link to the ESPACENET entry for any of you fluent in Swedish.  I got the patent numbers from a bilingual web site devoted to Johann Petter Johansson who invented all sorts of things including a  PRIMUS  type camp stove.
