How to clean and soften vinyl?
« on: March 02, 2019, 04:11:22 PM »
This is a purchase from last year and I want to try to find the missing offset driver. S-K set 70040 missing the #3 and#4 Phillips.  The vinyl pouch is dirty and stiff.  How can I clean it without removing the print?  And how to soften it up and get more usable?
Thanks

Clean it with a soft brush and something like fantastic spray cleaner. After cleaning, warm it up with a hair dryer and rub a little( Just a little) mineral oil into it Vinyl and plastics are made with oils and as the oil dries out they become hard and brittle. the heat will soften the vinyl so it doesn't crack and hopefully you can put a little moisture back into it to keep it soft.
VWs to D10s, I've fixed em.
