prayers for Pops
« on: October 22, 2018, 10:57:09 PM »
Well, just found out Dad's cancer may or may not have spread to lymph nodes. I'm not sure if I helped him out in the email I wrote him. I explained to him all the shit I've been through, and that when faced with no alternative, you can adapt. I also told him that , on the upside, if he ever had to have chemo he wouldn't have to worry about losing any hair.. doesn't have any :)  I told him maybe he could blame his shitty golf game on cancer.... also, "you know that phrase, 'can't take it with you' ?"  "well, you could leave it to your daughter."  I had some words of wisdom and personal stories that I won't share.  But, I've found, at least with my dad, doses of humor amongst serious conversation work well. All good thoughts and prayers are welcome
cheers

Well, dang.  So sorry to hear that.  Here's hoping he can find a treatment plan that will knock it dead.
