Well The Pickers have me saving everything almost!
« on: October 26, 2016, 07:00:04 PM »
Actually I was saving this in case one of the newer stamped steel ones broke. One is getting real bad.
A before and after pics, I have about 20 minutes pulling it out of the scrap metal save bucket and cleaning, straightening the hook, then giving it a coat of satin clear varnish.
Btw "the pickers show" has called and sent emails. no my wife can not stand Frank. (Jessica Epstien scheduling co-ordinator)

Now you need the wooden handle with the heavy duty light socket to put that cage on.

back in the 50's we depended on those for garage work.  but, when you dropped it, good by bulb, then you would hear
 about the cost of bulbs.

American Pickers ???   I watch the show, but I would never let them in my place, the way they climb all over everything
 and toss items aside.

I have to laugh when one of them says, oh look at this, and they have not even opened the box yet. it sure lets you know
that they were scouting long before the filming of the show.
I do like to see some of the stuff that is out there.

They appear to be filming in this area for the this season, which is 3-4 months away. They were in the area and were looking for more in this area. They showed one from St.Louis last week that is just west of us, and the drive-in movie place is north and east.

They only buy a few things usually. Maybe the folks they visit gain some exposure and make more sales after they leave. I think a lot of it is set up in advance.

What wife could resist the little bundler?  Unlike me, five dollars won't make or break Frank!

Hello, I like the show, even though I also believe some of it is staged. Once in a while, I get to watch the show with my girlfriend & her 2 teenage daughters, and we  try to guess the prices ( all three are garage sale & Bouckville veterans). When I see Frank & Mike walk by whole walls, and rooms, full of tools, I do cringe!!!  Regards, Lou

I stopped by the store they have in Iowa, a few years ago. There's pictures an a thread here on tooltalk about it soemwere in the past.

The show can be interesting to watch at times. I have a feeling a lot of it is staged an edited. Lots of the prices on tv an what I saw in store I wouldn't pay.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

I agree on the staged sections, the camera and sound people are there "before" they get out or go into the mole holes.  I would not sell most stuff at what they are paying. They have been paying more in the last year or two, some of those early years  50$ porcelain signs are long gone!

In this week's episode, for several minutes Mike was dancing all around the wrenches on the wall.

Better they are left for others I suppose.
