Double headed Crescent wrench
« on: September 30, 2016, 09:45:44 PM »
Got my first one this afternoon.  It's the 6-8 in. model.
It is very nice, but I need to remove some slathered-on yellow paint.  No rust at all.  Just beautiful old steel.
Is $2 too much to pay?
The ORIGINAL Northwoods.

It's official.  I hate you!.  Not really, what a great buy!  I picked up two doubles  in a lot from a eBay auction.  I paid about the same price per tool, but most of them weren't worth 10 cents.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

Thanks for the comments, guys.  I consider myself fortunate.
I find that some of the most productive sales involve a son selling his deceased father's older tools.  That was the case yesterday.  There were probably twenty crescent type wrenches laid out, several of them in bundles with duct tape.  I asked the seller to pull off a 4" Crescent, and he was agreeable.
Next I asked him to do the same for the Double.  The highlight of my day.
The yellow paint is gone now.  Paint remover, soap and hot, hot water, light oil and a light brass brush, more soap and water.
And then light oil again.
It is beautiful.
The ORIGINAL Northwoods.

whenever anyone ask me why two adjustable heads on one wrench, my 1st answer is so that I can turn two nuts at the same time.
