For whatever reason, this seems to be a hard wrench to find. I saw one on eBay and one in a box lot of wrenches at Donnelly's last year. This one I found from one of the online tool guys.
It differs from the other B & S wrenches in the series by virtue of its round hollow handle. The others have the more common "flat" handle. In talking to another tool guy, he speculated that perhaps it had been in a tool kit of some type which accounted for its relative scarcity. Or it could be that this cost more to manufacture than the model B, which was about the same size. The C is 5 1/8" long and the catalog shows the model B at 5".
It has the first B & S "typewriter" script logo, which, according to AA was used from the 1880’s to 1915(approximately). Maybe from a motorcycle or bicycle kit.
Anybody know, or have any ideas?
My 1939 catalog does not show the 'C', although the models A,B,D, and E were still being sold.
