Here we go!

I will try and contain myself, but....

OMG!!  Yet another forum, to take up what little time I have, on yet another subject I can easily get obsessive about.  Is there a 12 step program for forums?

Sorry.  I don't know where that came from.  But I do feel better. This makes about 20 forums that I have joined.  But I really only post on 3 or 4 regularly. I can see that growing by one.

So, I was Googling about a 4 fold rule I have and it brought me here.  Or more correctly, the Boxwood Folding Rules thread, where I'll post my question next.  I am somewhat of a tool junkie, at least as much of one as I can be on a limited budget.  I am an amateur wood worker.  I will mess with just about any motor, the older the better.  My latest is a 1954 Elgin outboard motor.  As far as doing something with my interests, I do 2 volunteer gigs. One is at The Alexandria Seaport Foundation, where we teach carpentry skills to at-risk youth, using traditional wooden boat building. My main tasks there are keeping their power tools running.

 And the latest one is at George Washington's home, Mount Vernon, where we are building a batteau(boat) of the type that George would have used in his fishing business.  This one has a webcam, view able anytime there is daylight(EST);

So, that as they say, is that.  I look forward to joining in the conversation.

Hi Stan, A warm welcome from Florida. A great bunch of people on this forum. Don't be afraid to ask questions, there's a lot of knowledge among this bunch and it is freely shared.

We're having a keel laying ceremony tonight at 6 EST.  I'll be waving occasionally in to the webcam.
