Superratchet
« on: June 04, 2016, 08:52:15 AM »
Came home yesterday with a nice B & C 8" No.80 adjustable.  It is sooooo ugly!
But I want to ask about a B 52 Superratchet 3/8".
AA shows two variations, and mine has characteristics of both.  The handle on mine seems to be much like the old style with "pat", but with the B52 on the same plane as the SUPERRATCHET rather than perpendicular to it as in the AA photo.
But the head is clearly the newer style (with the different selector switch).

It works smooth as can be.
AA dates the 1/2" version and I assume the 3/8" version of the earlier one to the patent's having been granted in 1956.
Does anyone know when they moved to my newer one?
And do you think I overpaid on them at fifty cents each?

I don't know how your conscious let you drive home with them.
You might say I have a tool collecting problem....

Oh, my conscience is quite sturdy.
Did I mention the J.H.Williams & Co. Brooklyn-Buffalo.U.S.A. #967 S wrench stamped for the AT&STFE RR?  I am just SW of Atchison, and those things show up fairly often.
Or the nice 8 1/2" no name monkey wrench with a nice spool handle?
Or the Morco #10 pipe wrench with a nice spool handle (both springs intact)"
Or the Stanley and Disston 7" brass braced woodworking squares?
Or the two brass hair-straightening combs and the 10 1/2" French Adoration hair curler with the coral colored swivel handles?
Or the Bon(Shield)ney number 1 double-ended alligator wrench?
Or the 6 1/2 Sargent & Co number 16 C-clamp with a Batman thumbscrew?
Or the full set of Indestro Chicago-U.S.A. Select Steel Drop Forged nested wrenches with the Steel Craft clip?
Or the Craftsman 1/2" V Tee bar and the Plvmb #5485 1/2" Tee bar?
Or the Zim #2 puller with swiveling jaws?
Or the Indestro open gear 6070 in 1/4?
Or the little 4 1/2 adjustable marked GERMANY  4?
Or a 8 1/4 by 2 3/4 coffin smoothing plane by Ohio Tool Co with a 2" blade?
The Craftsman tool box only cost a quarter, but its top is kinda rusty.  Junk included.

Slept like a baby last nite!

if you have to ask if you over paid on the tools, perhaps you should not have bought them.

bring them back and let someone else have that problem. just let us know where they are.
