I bought this 6" Oswego pipe wrench because I had not seen a handle quite like this. While inspecting it, I found a surprise. The manufacturer put a view of the wrench in the forging of the movable jaw. I think that is a sign of pride in manufacture that is lacking these days.
The wrench is a 6" Dickson Stillson wrench made by The Oswego Tool Co. of Oswego, New York USA.
Patent #1026661 of May 21, 1912.
The patent is for the method of attaching the shaft to the frame with rivets, with the intention of making parts replaceable when worn or broken.
