Austin wrench find.
« on: June 19, 2015, 02:22:34 PM »
Picked up a little Austin wrench yesterday.  3/8 and 7/16".
Took a bit to figure that it applied to the English Austin, not the American Austin.
Name in script exactly like that used in the 20's.
Makes me wonder how it found its way here.
Cute.

Almost the same size.  This one must hhttp://www.papawswrench.com/vboard/Smileys/popos/grin.gifave come from a different set, though, as mine is 3/8 and 7/16", but the sizes are not stamped on the wrench.  Doesn't seem likely that they would also offer a 3/8 and 5/16".
Another thing: the slash underline on mine is a little longer.  It reaches completely under the "u" in Austin.
Does that make it older, or newer, I wonder?
Another thing: mine cost fifty cents
