Rained today, so only few garage sales open, guess they wanted to dump stuff..
Found;
2 Army Hot Meal thermos containers each with 3 cans inside. in bulk pick-up.. (~30 lbs. of aluminum),  Clean, just need to fix
 3 latches. (16" x 9" x 20".. inside cans ~5" x 5" x 13")

Then on a yard sale table, picked; Stanley No.18. nice shape (0.50 cent) DC 6/12/24V tester, (0.50 cent)

Only had my Moped, got to go back with truck to check out the 4 large tool boxes he said he had in back.
(It was his girlfriends "X"'s stuff, she just wanted to get rid of the tools..)

I can't remember the name of those food containers, but sure ate enough meals out of them.  They would keep food hot for hours.  The stainless would also turn scrambled eggs green.  I usually only see them if the cans are missing.   The probe tester was a steal,  good ones cost over ten dollars.  I don't  see garage sales like this.   And do you usually go garage saling on a moped?   Where is the follow up on the tool boxes?

The food containers are called Mermite cans, I'm not sure what Mermite is an acronym for. They were still using these 15 years ago and it wouldn't surprise me to see them still in use somewhere.

Thank you for the replies, got to look up "Mermite cans" they look good, just got to drill out old rivets, but on a backing plate & rivet the latches back.. 

went back, but they were not home (1st time was close to closing time) will check this weekend if they still have it..

Yupp! like to use my moped here in Hawaii, good weather, go around my neighborhood & the adjacent valleys, only 15 minutes apart. 
easy to check what people have on the side of the road bulk pick-up & check sales, don't have to find parking.. drive right up on sidewalk to check things out..

Sounds like the good life to me, things are much to spread out here in Florida to do the same.

Went to several garage sales this morning, started slow, a few $1. items (Craftsman 20' tape rule, multy-tool, etc.)
The wife went on a buying spree for the grandkids.. (checked out last weeks "Moving sale", but they must have moved)  then last place off of "Von Hamm Young's" property.. found some OLD tools, this family's great Grandpa was a blacksmith way back when.. they were bringing out tools as they could from his work shop.  I Check in back, had very old wall mounted hand-crank drill press, Blacksmith vice with leg in concrete, old hand crank (14") grinding wheel with seat. and this was just outside the door to his shop..  the grandson would go in back, load up a box with tools, bring it to the garage, put it out for display, try to price them, then go back for more tools..  I must have been there 3 hours waiting for each new box of tools, then grabbing what I wanted to put aside.. finally he got tired, said that's all.. Got set of 28 brace drills, drill extension, Stanley Brace & angled Brace?, 2x 12" Draw Knifes, blacksmith tongs, nipper, hammer, 2 saw-sets, some special pliers, 2x 8" C-clamps, bunch of measuring tools, dividers, micks, tapered wedge scale, In-lbs torque wrench USAF. 5-150 in/lbs., bunch of hammer drill bits. metal hole plug cutters, Aluminum pipe wrench (Ampco?), a 8" monkey, and a bunch of other tools with a wooden tool box.. ended up paying $100 for everything..  They were happy.. I didn't feel too bad..

the angle brace had tape over the gearing, but when I removed tape, looked OK. guess tape was just padding to protect something..

More info..
The Drawknife has markings I can't make out, WO????, Cast Steel..  other has a mark on handle..  Anyone have info on these?

The Stanley Corner Brace No. 993,  pat.1915245.
The 0-1" Micrometer is a Millers falls..
The 1/4" torque wrench 5-150 IN/LB. is "Skyway precision tool co. San Gabriel Cal. model ST150,  USAF #7900-428143..

 And the Tapered wedge looks handmade, brass, very accurate markings, but on sides has bunch of "o" stamped for grip?..
I know I seen this Multi-tool on Papaws, but what is it for?

The mark on the handle -- is that a sticker?  It reminds me of the paper labels used by Berg from Sweden.   The octagonal handle is also the first I've ever seen.  The mark "cast steel" almost certainly indicates the other drawknife was manufactured in England or the US.

The octagonal handles looks more hand made (hewed), (not machined, maybe replacements?) also the tangs? look blacksmith made (imperfect match ends & forge marks).  also closer look; WOAKE?? with "CAST STEEL" Thicker than other, 1 5/8" wide, over 19" long.

the other mark is painted/inked in the handle, that looks more manufactured, with relief groove?, thinner, 1 5/16" wide, ~18" long. handle to handle..

They both cut & feel good..
