Yellow handled Buck Rogers hacksaw
« on: April 18, 2015, 07:28:38 AM »
OK, Scott, it's not mine, but here is a yellow handle version.  So we can add another color to the line up:

It needs some Grandstaff magic to bring the color out, but it is yellow.

Branson,  The Buck Rogers name was given to the Millers Falls line of "futuristic" looking tools.  Most, including the hacksaw, had red handles.  There were planes, a push drill and the hacksaw that I know of, and probably some more.

The planes are rare and bring a good price, especially in good condition.  Even a "ratty" one will bring more than the equivalent Stanley.

I have a Craftsman that looks like the Parker on eBay, and it has a blue handle.

Parker's colors were yellow and black at one time...maybe they still are.

Yeah, I know about the MF Buck Rogers stuff.  If you look closely at the shape of the handle and guard, they're nearly exactly the same as the MF Buck Rogers hacksaw -- same pattern.   Mine is a Wards Master, and I strongly suspect it was made by MF for Monkey Wards.

I have one of the blue handled Craftsman saws as well.  Similar, with the hand guard, but not quite the same.

I just went out in my shop and discovered i have a #48 Millers Falls red handled hacksaw. I have a lot of my tools hanging from the roof so they don't take up floor space and so they are within reach when needed. I like MF tools and have several other types of their tools.

That's a twin to the one I have, exactly.

Here are a few photos of a No. 300 M-F Buck Rogers hacksaw.

The link is to a Millers-Falls hacksaw ad.
