Falling in lake
« on: May 04, 2017, 01:37:25 PM »
Last week I fell in Lake of the Ozarks in 40+ degree temp. Had eyeglasses cell phone, hearing aids, billfold, checkbook and full rain gear plus life jacket. Don't normably wear life jacket on dock but hadn't removed it yet. Also drug 4 or 5 of son's rods and reels in with me. I floated and fishing gear stayed with me. Nothing was lost and everything still works. God protects drunks and idiots and I don't drink so excuse my incoherance.
Since this is a wrench forum have included a picture of some wrenchs I purchased at MVWC spring auction. Only Question is what color should I paint the letters of the Casaday wrench?

Jim, if it was mine, I would not paint it,  I would mount it with a light colored background, like white or yellow.

that lower right wrench, is that a "Allen hay rake wrench ?  I think number 35 ? might also have a star on it.
used to take off the hay rake tines.   the Allen Co. was from Barre, Massachusetts.

I tend to agree with turnnut regarding a paint job, it looks good the way it is.
Prior to your dip in the lake, did you catch any fish ?????

we did catch some. This 13 1/2 inch crappie was largest crappie. Didn't get photo of 3 in crappie. Son got some nice bass up to 6 lb,but it was cold windy and rainy.

Hi Jim, yes, a 32   I was trying to go by memory as  I had sold at least 3 of these in the past.

I am not far from Barre.

that 32 sometimes would bring many questions on it's use due to the shape.

let us know what your decision on the paint/no paint of the Casaday.

and try to stay dry, Frank

Followed Turnnuts suggestion of mounting without painting. Had not painted any wrenchs before ( any painted wrenchs were painted when acquired) suits me and thats the only requirement. Thanks for the guidance.

I agree it looks much better that way. Nice looking display!
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.
