Canadian "Craftsman MD" 15/16 stubby professional wrench
« on: September 08, 2011, 08:47:14 AM »
I have been searching for a wrench to complete a 4 piece set and the closest thing I have found is shown on this site in Canada. The American version has a raised panel which is not what I am hunting for. I have heard that many of the Canadian versions of Craftsman are made in China or somewhere other than USA.
I am wondering if someone is familiar with the Canadian versions enough to tell me what the "MD" indicates, and also, would the wrenches pictured at this website likely have "China" stamped on them?

The MD is simply the French equivalent of the "registered trademark" symbol, ®; it stands for "marque déposée".

The country of manufacture is listed on the packaging for the tool rather than the tool itself and yes, almost all are made in China...

No, no chance at all. The US & Cdn Sears stores once offered the same items, but not since the late 1970s or early 1980s...
