Dunlap DOE wrench set

I found these today and, never having seen a set of these before, bought 'em.  I checked out Dunlap on Alloy Artifacts.  These wrenches are similar to the Dunlap set shown on Alloy Artifacts, but the logo is slightly different  Mine says "Dependable Quality".  My set also has the letter "V" embossed on the back of each wrench, which suggests the set was made by Vlcek, not Moore.

Do any of my Tool Talk friends know more about this wrench set?

 Dunlap was Sears economy brand.  Maybe the "V" was for Easco, like Craftsman.  If so tgat would put it at the end of the Dunlap era in the 1950's.

Dunlap ran ~20 yrs.  From 38-39 to the late 50's

I think the Dunlap "economy" brand from that time frame is often as good as some of todays quality tools.

The most likely OEM for those Dunlap wrenches is Moore Drop Forge; Easco came later (about 1968) upon acquiring MDF.

I'm pretty sure MDF got it's start about 1935-1938 at Sears making tools under the Dunlap brand.  Later, about 1947, MDF made tools for Sears under both the Dunlap and Craftsman brands.

The Dunlap brand was retired in the late 1950's.

Looks like I have a match, or close to it.  Found these on a high shelf in a thrift.  Of course I bought them for the right money, or they would still have been there.   They feel good in the hand, not cheap at all.
