Your bottom photo shows the outside back of the main gear. It looks like part of it sticks out more. If so, it will be "wobbly" and will not withstand much torque applied.
Or is it just the photo or me that is "canted" and wobbly?

Year the pin could be peened over a bit to tighten it up just a bit sloppy from decades of use.

The back part of that ratchet is thicker than other ratchets , and sticks out from the case, normal...

That is a 24 tooth ratchet, from an era when you were lucky to get 12 teeth, it's the second version (stamped logo) , very nice ratchet :)
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.
