3/8 drive extension thing sorta

today's  garage/antique sale yielded this.


JAN 153 by skipskip, on Flickr

black enamel, approx 15 inches long

3/8 drive female one end

3/4 socket  on the other

'ears' near the drive end.. for finger turning?

not for heavy work, the rod part is  thin, maybe 1/4"

no name or numbers that I see so far.

any ideas?

It looks like an oil pump primer for some kind of engine. I've made of few of these with different ends to prime the pumps on rebuilds so the engine would not start dry. Now you can buy them for most applications.
