August 2nd is quickly approaching. The second day of each month makes me remember a close friend I lost over in Afghanistan. I guess she was the first female pilot to die in combat. Most persons may think of someone on their actual date in which they died, jan 2nd, 2004. But, every time the second day of the month comes aroud, I think of her. Anyhow, I suppose it's a moment to remember all persons we've lost during wars and back here, too.
I wouldn't be aloud to, and couldn't figure out what I think about war, but, I do know a lot of good persons have died in war through the years. It's just a reminder to remember all of those who have died in the service of our country. It's a humbling thing to think about. Maybe not appropiate. But, I'm not making a statement about war at all. It's just a reminder to remember all those folks we've lost in war, in fire fights, ect.
I guess it doesn't hurt to be thankful for those persons that serve us by saving our lives, fighting fires, ect.
This is BY NO MEANS a political statement. It's just to remind us all of how many persons we have to be thankful for. For that matter, I'm thankful for you folks.
I guess it's just a sobering and humble moment to remember all of the persons that have helped us through the years --- you folks are some of those persons to me . Hope all's well.
cheers, bird
