My set of "I dunno the brand" DBE's
« on: November 07, 2013, 03:52:12 PM »
I acquired the middle wrench about a year ago. No name, but nice length, feel, and offset. Today I found the other two wrenches to round out the set, but had no manufacturer markings on them, either. Nice broaching - definitely gonna throw them in the truck and use them.
But would like to know who made them. Any thoughts?

No Idea , but nice wrenches. Maybe a tool kit set? You think they would be proud enough to put their name on them.
Of all the things I've lost , I miss my mind the most

I suspect BHM, they liked "Nickel Molybdenum" and big blurry diagonal fractions....

plus the box openings look like theirs...

probably from a auto store chain tool kit that didn't get branded..
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

The Bridgeport connection has potential.

I'm leaning towards Herbrand, as they used Nickel Molybdenum, and the font style looks fat and short like theirs. They also did contract work for Western Auto, so, maybe these wrenches are a contract run?  I'm thinking 30's vintage?
