Swapping Plomb Tools
« on: May 19, 2015, 11:17:24 AM »
Hi guys,

Like most of us, I scout the swap meets, pawn shops and junk stores for the tools I lack to fill sets I've been building for decades. Occasionally I find what I'm looking for but more often than not I find a Plomb I already have but can't leave behind.... That practice has left me with a box that contains 100+ Plombs that I like to use for swapping.

I'm including a couple links to spreadsheets. One for the ones I currently have for swap and one for the ones I'm looking for. Take a look, see if there's anything you need. If so, and you happen to have one of the tools on my "seeking list" by all means get in touch.

Or feel free to get in touch anyway....It's great to have someone else scouting for what we're looking for and both lists change fairly frequently.

Happy hunting!

Thank u for the post!  It's nice to see others obsessed with plomb, although my collection is very small I think we can find some great trades... I have a  "war finish" 3040 DOE smooth if I  could get a few 1/2 sockets in return..

I need 5416, 5421, 5422 and 5424...

Lemme know if the war finish interests you...

I also have (2) 3/4" drive (possibly impact) available- 5540, 5546 if you wanna trade for the 1/2 ratchet... Or I can send u cash lemme know thanks!

Call or text if you'd like 619 654 7821

Hi Lavish,

Thanks for responding. We Plomb guys gotta work together!

The fact is, I already have all of the tools you listed. My 3/4 set lacks only a single piece - a 5670 U-joint - (I have a Proto in it's place at the moment) and all of my sets (1100, 1200 & 3000 series) are pebbles.

That "war finish" 3040 of yours would certainly be nice for anyone that's focusing on putting a set of those together - I could be wrong, but I think johnnybentwrench here on Tool Talk is putting such a set together.

The items that I'm most interested in swapping for are listed in my "Sought Plombs" spreadsheet link.... Got any of those, by chance?
