Some of Today's Finds
« on: March 28, 2013, 06:07:09 PM »
I'm a sucker for tool boxes. I couldn't pass these up, even though there are no tools in them. I'm fond on the aluminum tool handle and double end Diamond Calk wrench, as well.

I'd love to get a tent-style box with heavy duty wire handles like that. They are just so cool and tough looking. Back when they made tool boxes to last.
The double diamond is great, too.

I've got one in my driveway George. And yeah they do last and last.
'Cept mine doesn't look like that. I got mine from the town dump.
It was already a weary veteran. It was 7 colors from old paint jobs, had burn holes from welding, and it had been bent and pounded back out 20 times.
It was about flat as a pancake when I met it.
I got it hot with a torch and pounded it back out and used it just like that for 10 years.
On a visit to the city one time, someone siphoned my gas but they left that toolbox alone, in an unlocked station wagon! In plain sight!

I finally took pity on it and pounded it some more, added corner covers around the bottom, and painted it national blue.  I made a wooden insert till and divided it off for a 1/2" socket set.

It was great in the summer, but winters are too damp here and the wooden till tried to rust my sockets.
Sure wish we had cheap postage somehow. I'd be delighted to share it with you. Probably do great in the desert!
    yours Scott

That's a very kind offer, Scott. Too bad the cost of shipping is so high. It just kills so many deals.

My dad was a tin knocker. Wish he was still alive. He could probably make boxes like that with no problem.
