Is it too much to expect?
« on: January 23, 2013, 07:17:56 AM »
Is it too much to expect an ebay dealer to know the difference between a claw hammer and a cross pein hammer?  Or that Stanley doesn't end in O?

I would think not, especially for $16.  But then, *he* acquired it...  I guess I'm just dumbfounded that anyone could reach adulthood without recognizing a claw hammer.

I don't think that the wrong description is a stupid.  The guy is a tool seller with 13,000 feedbacks and he is a great source for collectable ratchets. He probably posted the wrong photo. Check out his other items.

Agree with John;this  seller correctly ID,s a claw hammer in another listing. Probably wrong picture especially since he refers to handle which doesn,t exist in this posting.

Missed the part about the non-existent cracked handle.  Wrote the seller about the possible wrong picture.

I can speak from experience as someone who lists a lot of items on Ebay -- the picture mistakes are some of the easiest ones to make.  I usually use the previous listing as a template form my next one.

I don't know how many times I had the wrong thumbnail/cover photo with the right title, description, and body photos.  Usually people alert me when I have an error.  One time, a guy insisted I send him the tool in the cover photo, which of course was much more expensive than the tool I was listing.  I should have told him no and taken the negative feedback, but I sent him the hammer he wanted.

Most people on EBay are very nice and appreciative, but you always remember the guys like that one.
