Bonney ratchet
« on: January 01, 2018, 07:57:28 AM »
Recently I bought a BONNEY T35 ⅜ drive ratchet in a local charity shop.
Used, but in good condition. Paid € 2.50 = $ 3.-
Datecode A.Y. (January 1947).
A rare find in the Netherlands.
Came here probably in the context of the Marshall Plan after WW2.
Now it is in my collection.

Happy New Year to you all.

Regards
Henri

Rare find in Europe, I am sure.  Was it that clean when you found it?

Yes, it was pretty clean. Only the oil hole was blocked, and I cleaned the mechanism with WD-40.

Knew the brand, because I also have a BONNEY B-15 slip-joint combination pliers,
that I bought more than thirty years ago. Also rare in Europe.

That's a very nice example. As old as they are they are also decent workers if you don't mind the low tooth count.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.
