NIGHT MARE
« on: June 09, 2012, 07:08:33 AM »
Where were you at 3:35 this morning ? I had a nightmare about someone broke into my house with a gun  and threatened me that he would shoot me if I did not give him a billings adjustable wrench.
I told him i would not and he hit me in the face . I woke up with the mask of my c-pap machine wrapped around my head.   bob w.

Billings is a good adjustable, but my face is purdy.  I'd hand it over!  :-)

amertrac,

I get the feeling you're fond of Billings adjustables...

And, your dream is killing me... too funny.

Shoulda swapped him the wrench for the gun and then took him out and got your wrench back.   Most crooks are that stupid,....especially in dreams.  Plastic surgeons are usually more expensive than rare wrenches, especially on Medicare....lol

LOL nice

I remember one day I had a crazy dream were someone stole all my tools. That was scary. I automaticly woke up ran to the shop then the shed just so happened i was in my boxers. I guess a neighbor saw me the next day at school everyone was like why were you running to your shed half naked in the middle of the night.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

It was even scarier when one morning about 15 years ago I woke up and found that someone had stolen all of my wrenches and my cutting torch, tanks, cart and all. Got an insurance settlement, went to Sears and got new, but it is just not the same. There are still old tools that I reach for and remember that they are gone. My settlement check would have been bigger, but I didn't remember everything that was stolen until later when I needed something that was not there.

Almost all of my original Craftsman tools disappeared from my outside garage back in 1981, including a really nice Blackhawk floor jack that I'll likely never get to replace.  Point to ponder:  don't leave a large ice chest out to dry from the weekend near your tools.  It makes a great "getaway" container and the plastic bottomed ones will slide over nearly any surface like it had casters.

My toolbox that has the Plombs in it weighs nearly 100# and the antique wrench box is closer to 130#.  Both are up high on a shelf, saying,"I dare ya".  If you hear in the news that a thief was crushed by a tool box that fell on him, well...........

The Craftsman stuff I make easily accessible in hopes they'll be satisfied with that and leave.  The $600 pr. of stereo speakers in the overhang hopefully will be sufficiently hidden from view.

McGruff the Crime Dog hasn't officially approved of these tactics, but he's been pretty scare lately.
