THURS/FRI Finds= Quality, not Quantity
« on: June 09, 2012, 03:23:32 AM »
Not much out there and since I have to work Saturday and miss a decent tool auction here in town, I may have made up for it.  One estate sale had the MAC 6 pt. DBE, the 6" Dimalloy, 2 Craftsman V wrenches, the Snap On DBE the New Britain combo and the other estate sale had the Lenk Blow Torch and the Hampton Lightning Wrench.  A yard sale on the way home had the Clench wrench and the Enederes punches.

The wicks on the Lenk are in great shape and most of the instructions are intact.  Someone wants $95 for their Hampton Lightnng wrench on ebay....how 'bout that......going to bed now....

DWM,

You done good.  Nice stuff there.

The Snap On DBE and the New Britain combo wrenches are both really nice wrenches.

I find the flea market in my area is more productive on Sundays than Saturdays.  So much so, I don't even bother going there on Saturdays anymore.  I don't know if this is a universal rule or just something that applies to my little slice-o-Tejas

Well, it is here, in as much as it's only open sundays -P
(On saturday it is a big empty field with perhaps a stray cow in it)

The Lenk in the box is interesting, I see the Lenk's all the time, but I have never seen a box...

According to the Lenk instructions, there's spozed to be a tip cleaner for the torch.  The orifice os a whopping .012" in diameter.  Maybe fining a Lenk with box, instructions AND the tip cleaner would be the weekly holy grail......or not.  Still think that guy with the Blackhawk red torpedo tool box holds the Holy Grail award for this list(as long as I've been on it anyway).

Holy Grail!!  We don't look for cups, just small torches.  The tip cleaners are the horizontal lines thru the top of the instruction sheets.  A bread tie with the paper/ plastic stripped is usable for most torches.  BTW, these things do work surprisingly well.  I would be willing to trade them for a complete Blackhawk rocket set.

I guess I forgot to include in the original post description  the unopened box of Hansen staples I found for 50 cents at the estate sale.  Not sure when I would've found a box of these anywhere, but then my Hansen stapler/tacker tool(found at a yard sale a year a go or so) came with some staples and the unit works better than either Arrow or Swingline I had prior to that.  Go figure....and it's way cooler looking and the modern stuff.
